The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin has pledged the Defence Headquarter (DHQ) unflinching support to the newly elected executive members of the Alumni Association of National Institute (AANI) for policy and strategic Studies Jos. General Olonisakin made the pledge when the new president of the Association, Khaleed Bolaji led his team to the Defence Headquarters to acquaint the CDS with the activities of the association.
The CDS, who was represented by the Chief of Defence Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Bashir Saidu congratulated the new executives and assured them of adequate support as they pilot the affairs of the association. He applauded the association for its tremendous contributions to national growth and urged members not to rest on the oars but to continue to partner with other agencies in the overall interest of the nation.
In his remarks, the AANI president stated that Defence Headquarters is the hub of national security and strong pillar for nation building. He solicited for a collaborative partnership with DHQ for the association’s forthcoming summit on Strategic Defence policy. He also appealed for assistance from the CDS through capacity building and infrastructures.
Joining the CDS representative to receive the delegates were principal staff officers from DHQ. Highlight of the visit was the exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph.
