NADCEL 2021: NAOWA GUARDS BRIGADE CONDUCTS COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN NASARAWA STATE

The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Guards Brigade Chapter has conducted a community outreach for children, widows and orphans in the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility in commemoration of Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2021.
The outreach took place on 3rd July 2021, at 177 Guards Battalion, Shittu Alao Barracks and Ground Orphanage Home in Keffi LGA.
Speaking at the event, the Zonal Coordinator, NAOWA Guards Brigade Chapter, Pharmacist( Mrs) Rakiya Usman disclosed that the outreach was conducted in line with the directive of the National President NAOWA, Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya to all coordinators to reach out to the less privileged.
Mrs Usman also added that the outreach was organized to enable her interact with widows and children, particularly children of deceased personnel living in the barracks. This she said will go a long way in encouraging them, as well as address some of their challenges.
Climax of the event was the donation of food items, educational materials and other basic essentials to the widows, children of deceased personnel and orphanage homes.
